This Christmas story was....interesting. I feel that with another round of editing it could have been a really stellar tale, but it just missed the mark for me. I liked Connor and Mara a lot, however, the premise was a little transparent. The conflict was shallow and lacked the depth needed to make it believable. Connor's parents threatening Mara in the beginning to the point that he held nightmares and then doing a complete 180 without much explanation was odd. It felt more like Twilight fan fiction than a unique story. Under that heading I would have really enjoyed it. On it's own I wanted more. Perhaps a longer story would have allowed the author to fill in some of those gaps that made it feel disjointed. As a novella there just wasn't enough time to do it justice. All that said the sex was really well written. It was sensual and hot, and really showed the everlasting love between Mara and Connor. I just wished the plot and world building was better developed.
