This box was really nice. Thoughtfully put together, it had some unique items. The box’s theme was SciFi. Not quite as fully themed as the Ever After Box, but well thought out. Despite the theme of the box they let you choose the genre of book you get. So this kind of takes away from the overall theme.
The beautifully designed spoiler card on top gave information on what the box included. A specially chosen quote and design for the card were unique to this month’s box.
The first thing you found under the card was Pocky. The card told me that they choose to flavors and included one into each box. I received chocolate flavor. In case your curious my favorite flavor of Pocky is the almond crunch one.
This box had 1 book, The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare. I’m super excited by this because I really enjoy her books, and hadn’t gotten this one yet.
On top of the book was this little packet of almost trading card like book adverts. Each one had a QR code on the back that took you to the Author’s website and where you could find links to purchase.
A surprise inclusion, i.e. it wasn’t on the spoiler card, was a screen/lens cleaning cloth to match the little trading cards. I think this cloth is neat idea, given that my iPad screen is always covered in fingerprints. The cards and cloth were for Darcy Burke’s Secrets & Scandals Series. Click on the pic of the cards for info on the series.
A personalized mouse pad was included in the box. This was a total surprise. It was mentioned on the spoiler card, but I didn’t actually think it would have my name on it.
The candle included is very sweet smelling and kind of adorably glittery. Peaches and Cream is not a scent I would choose for my house, because I try to avoid food smells. I don’t need smells triggering my ever present hunger.
The final items in the box were an imprinted drawstring bag and an art print. The bag is a nice quality. The art print is really pretty.
One of the nice thing they did was work with Etsy sellers to create the products within the box. This means a lot of the items came with discount codes for further orders from those shops.
When girl meets Duke, their marriage breaks all the rules…
Since his return from war, the Duke of Ashbury’s to-do list has been short and anything but sweet: brooding, glowering, menacing London ne’er-do-wells by night. Now there’s a new item on the list. He needs an heir—which means he needs a wife. When Emma Gladstone, a vicar’s daughter turned seamstress, appears in his library wearing a wedding gown, he decides on the spot that she’ll do.
His terms are simple:
– They will be husband and wife by night only.
– No lights, no kissing.
– No questions about his battle scars.
– Last, and most importantly… Once she’s pregnant with his heir, they need never share a bed again.
But Emma is no pushover. She has a few rules of her own:
– They will have dinner together every evening.
– With conversation.
– And unlimited teasing.
– Last, and most importantly… Once she’s seen the man beneath the scars, he can’t stop her from falling in love…
