One More Try

Full disclosure, I read this on Christmas. Not something I would recommend normally, but my day was crap. Complete crap, Christmas sucked, I demand a do-over. So reading this really lifted my spirits. Bash and Shannon, wow, what can I say. I was right when I thought this story would hurt, but I didn’t really expect the darkness that I found. This story is dark, and Bash isn’t really written to be liked. Typically when secondary Characters warn the heroine that the hero is dark and not someone you want to fall in love with, well, the hero is generally just misunderstood. Not the case here. If my man told me the things Bash disclosed I’d run in the other direction. All that said, he really makes sense with Shannon. Her life has not been easy, and I’d love more backstory on why. We know recent events, but why was she targeted specifically. Being the President’s niece isn’t really doing it for me, there has to be more to it than that. Why does this specific niece make him so vulnerable? The author made it sound like her dad kept her away from her uncle because of the club. Is her luck really that bad? Overall though you don’t really notice those aspects because of the other things going on. This one is dark, and won’t be for everyone. It improved my craptastic day, and I enjoyed the characters. They were truly unique.
